Males are a Dark-blue with yellow on the top of their heads. The blaze on a few males turns orange around 4 inches. Main Photo id my current Breeder male. The second photo is a full orange color male at 4.5". The third photo is a smaller male. Males have yellow or orange on the top of their dorsal fin.  Their body is a deep or light blue with faint darker stripes. They also sport a yellow or orange edge on the tail,  turquoise on the lower portion of the head, and numerous yellow egg spots on the anal fin. A few males turn more dark blue on the body.

Peaceful Peacock that mixes well with other Peacocks (other than Jacobfreibergi types of a similar color), Haplochromis, milder Mbuna, and milder Lake Victorians in single male tanks. Do not mix different Aulonocara females in the same tank. (See Compatibility Chart)
