Males are marron red with black lines mixed through their bodies. Their face is blue. Red appears on the tail and dorsal fin.
This fish is mildly aggressive and mixes well with many other Lake Malawi peacocks and Haplochromines. They are known for fast acceleration when afraid or attempts are made to catch them., but they are not a problem in most all-male only show tanks. Generally peaceful toward most other African Cichlid Peacocks and Haplochromines.
Do not be afraid to keep this fish. Males work well with many other African Cichlid males. Speed is used to avoid fights which is a good thing.
Have you tried Smart Start Complete yet? It helps to keep your aquarium water cycle system working and keep fish healthy. CAS uses it in our tanks. Our 12 oz. bottles take up the same space as one 3.5" or smaller fish in our 12 x 12 x 10 and larger boxes. This means you can ship a bottle with your fish order with no extra shipping charge in most cases. see https://www.cichlidsarespecial.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=343 for more information.
These fish are available occasionally through my special orders list and a few larger ones will be brought into stock as long as they continue to sell from stock.
