Males are light blue with red mixed through the body and red on the tail. This fish is slow to color; but well worth the wait. Females are brown with or without some red on the tail. This fish rarely colors before 4 to 4.5"

Large hap that is compatible with most other haplochromines males. They are the least aggressive of the Nimbochromis group of fish but do not always mix well with peacock cichlids and other milder haplochromines. Best in 120-gallon or four-foot-wide tanks.

Best kept in single male tanks 120-Gallon or larger tank recommended. 

The best mix of sex for breeding is one male with five or six females. 75 gallon or larger tank recommended. 40 Gallon breeder tanks may work as well. 

These fish are occasionally available on a special order list or brought in to stock in 4" or large males.
