Males begin to show light blue on the body and white on the dorsal fin about 2". As they grow the white on the dorsal fin will turn gold and they will develop a gold blaze on the top of the head. females arere silver. 

This fish can be delicate. Smaller more frequent water chances are advised. Do not move these fish around unless you have to until they reach 2.5 inches. Keep in one teaspoon per gallon plain saltwater until 2.5" I am going to restrict these to a local pick up.  They do not ship well.

Best kept in single male tanks with milder peacocks and milder Lake Malawi Haplochromines.  It is hard to beat the color of an all-male African Cichlid Tank.

The best mix of sex for breeding is one male with five or six females.
