Males are mostly deep blue. Over time the mid part of their body turns yellow/ orange. The face becomes green. Black Spots appear on the body as well. This fish is very slow to show full color often not showing full color before 4 to 4.5".

These fish do not ship well during colder weather when heat packs are necessary. During that time of year, they are only available through local pick up.

Best kept in single male tanks with milder peacocks and milder Lake Malawi Haplochromines.
The best mix of sex for breeding is one male with five or six females.
