Lemon Jake males have a blue body with bright yellow along the edges. Their fins and tail are yellow. Most show yellow on the shoulder area as well. Females are cream with brown stripes. They are part of the Jacobfreibergi group of peacocks and can get aggressive toward other peacocks of similar color.
Do not mix well with other peacock males with a lot of yellow in their color. This type of peacock will tend to be aggressive toward other yellow peacocks, especially Benga. They mix best with Malawi Haplochromis (See Compatibility Chart)
These fish are occasionally available through my special order (pre-order from my wholesaler) program. The price will vary by cost.
The base price is for a 3" male based on the last time they were ordered. Prices have been increasing, however, on almost every order.
Best kept in single males in all-male tanks. It is hard to beat the color of an all-male African Cichlid Tank.
The best mix of sex for breeding is one male with five or six females. 75-Gallon or larger tank recommended.
