Lemon Jake males have a blue body with bright yellow along the edges. Their fins and tail are yellow. Most show yellow on the shoulder area as well. Females are cream with brown stripes. They are part of the Jacobfreibergi group of peacocks and can get aggressive toward other peacocks of similar color.
Do not mix well with other peacock males with a lot of yellow in their color. This type of peacock will tend to be aggressive toward other yellow peacocks, especially Benga. It mixes best with Malawi Haplochromis (See Compatibility Chart)
Best kept in single males in all male tanks, may work in groups of three or more males in 4 inch or wider tanks, though some secondary males may not achieve full color. 90 to 120-Gallon Tanks Recommended.
Best mix of sex for breeding is one male with five or six females. 75-Gallon or larger tank recommended.
