Protomelas taeniolatus Chizumulu Tangerine Tiger males have a blue face, yellow/orange body with black stripes, a blue dorsal fin with an upper red edge, a red anal fin, and a mix of blue and red on their tail. Females are silver with checkerboard type black lines. It is an older fish that was not collected from the lake for some time. Very Rare Collection point makes them They are a rare find in the hobby. This fish is attractive; but more aggressive than most other Protomelas types. Males from this stain tends to show lighter blue on the face, with brighter yellow on the body and red on the tail and dorsal fins. Do not confuse this fish with Protomelas Taeniolatus Likoma Island which is also referred to as a Tangerine Tiger. Likoma Island is turquoise with a yellow shoulder and yellow lower fins. Do not mix them with Red Empress, Super Red Empress, or Intermedius.

Mildly aggressive haplochromis that mixes well with most other haplochromis, peacocks, milder mbuna, and milder Lake Victorians. Does not mix well with Red Empress and Intermedius.
