Lake Tanganyika This lake contains fish ranging from small in size to very large in size. We primarly carry Lake Tanganyika fish which fish can be mixed with Lake Malawi Cichlids, and Lake Victora Cichlids in a community tank. Several types of Lake Tanganyika fish require special water conditions, extreemley large tanks, or higher PH levels of 8.6. We normally do not carry these more difficult species. If you are interested in these more difficult type fish, we now offer special orders of them when we are getting more fish from our supplier. A deposit is required for this type order. If you are interested in the more generalized Lake Tanganyika Fish which can be used in a community tank, please click on the button above to go to our first page of Lake Tanganyika livestock. | | | Lake Victoria 1 |
Lake Victoria Basin Cichlids Red is a common color amoung this delicate group of cichlids. These fish come from several areas in the Lake Victorian Basin. These areas include: Igombe Island, Kenya, Lake Albert, Lake Edward, Lake George, Lake Kanyaboli, Lake Kyoga, Lake Nawampasa, The Kazinga Channel, Makobe Island , Python Island, Ruti Island, Victoria Nile, and Lake Victoria. Most of these fish tend to be slightly less aggressive than their Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika neighbors. As a result, the least aggressive types of these fish do best in a Lake Victoria Cichlid only Tank, or with other Less Agressive Tank Mates. Others, maked as mildly agressive to agressive in our livestock lisitings, usually will work with Lake Malawi, and Lake Tanganyika cichlids in a community tank.
