How to Order from Cichlids Are Special
1. Go to our Livestock Pages and choose the fish you want to purchase Or if you are not sure about your shipping options, send me your Zip Code and I can go over them with you.
2. Send me an email at: cichlidsarespecial@comcast.net or call us at (717) 843-7650. Make sure to include the type and amounts of the fish you wish to order, their Size (Adult, Sub Adult, or Juvenile), for adults: add their sex (Male, Female, Pair, Trio). Be sure to include your name, correct street address, phone number, and email address. Do not send your credit card information through unsecured email. Wait instead for our invoice (see steps 4-5). Double check you address. Address errors are not covered by our Live Fish Guarantee.
2A) If you live in the York Area, and you want to set up a fish pick-up at a local Bank parking lot, let me know.
2B) If you are having your order shipped and you need your fish to arrive on a specific day (Tuesday through Friday) be sure to tell me this in you email, as well.
3. I will review your order, make sure the fish you want are still in stock. For Pay Pal Customers, I send you a invoice including your shipping, heat pack fee if needed, and tax charges to review. For customers using other payment methods, I will go over your charges on the phone or by email. All Pay Pal Invoices must be paid with-in 72 hours of receipt. Failure to pay will result in your fish being put back into inventory and you will have to start your order over again.
For local pick ups or delivery, we offer cash payment during day light hours. If pay pal is an issue, we also will accept a guaranteed check or money order as well. For local pick up or delivery this can be done at the time of pick up or delivery. For long distance shipping, you fish will not be shipped until we receive your payment in advance.
4. Review your invoice carefully. Double check your address (Our Live Fish Arrival Guarantee requires this information be correct). Please check out our fish policy page for complete Live Shipment Guarantee information. If there is any problem with your invoice, please contact us immediately so we can remedy this problem promptly.
5. Pay your invoice through our secure PAY PAL Link (Included with Invoice) or send us a guaranteed check. For day light local pick ups, cash payments or guaranteed checks can be made at the time of the pick up. After dark pick ups may be paid in advance by Pal pal or through a guaranteed check or money order. We do not accept cash for after dark pick ups, for our safety and yours.
6) Once we receive conformation of this payment, we will set up your fish for shipment, or make local agreeable pick up arrangements, and send you an email confirmation, or confirm you order by phone. Please note, fish may be held up to 48 hours prior to shipping in order to better prepare them for a safe journey.
7) For orders to be delivered by Fed Ex, we will send you a tracking number, when your order ships, so you can track its progress. On Fed Ex deliveries, we will have Fed Ex send you tracking updates as well. For Southwest Cargo Shipments, we will send you a way bill number. You can check way bill numbers on Southwest Cargo's to determine actual flight shipment at www.southwestcargo.com usually by 8:30 a.m. EST on the day of shipment.
This order system is designed so that we only charge you for the Shipping fees necessary to complete your order, and make any necessary corrections, before actually charging your Pay Pal Account or Credit Card through Pay Pal. For Southwest cargo, this applies only to the fish price and handling fee. Shipping must be paid by you at Southwest Cargo when you receive your fish package. Pay Pal provides a secure payment processing system for our customers, so you do not have to worry about theft of your credit card, or personal information.

I offer the following Shipping options; Live Arrival Guarantees are based on the reliability of the service chosen due to the fact that no carrier other than SWA Cargo will insure fish. Fish consistently survive up to two days in shipping during warm weather. Some may not survive the full two days in cold weather however. In addition, there is no live arrival guarantee on 1" Juveniles because they do not always survive shipment.
1) Fed EX Ground One Day service for customers in our Ground Zone only. Our Ground Zone includes the states of Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey. It also includes all of Long Island-New York City. Most of Pennsylvania and parts of Southern Connecticut, Southern Massachusetts, A Small part of Eastern Ohio, Southern New York State, Northern Virgina, and Northern West Virgina are in our ground zone. Please send me your zip code and I can verify if you are included in this area. Shipping by Ground on most fish orders runs between $10 and $20. 2) Fed Ex Next Day Air Express. Fed Ex Next Day is very expensive, it generally starts around $80 for locations just out side of the ground zone and can be as much as $200 or more to the US west cost. I guarantee live delivery by Fed Ex Next day Air Services. SWA Cargo, however is more cost efficient if you can order $75 or more fish at one time. 3) SWA Airport to Airport Cargo Freight Service via Harrisburg, PA Road Feeder service to BWI Monday to Friday weather permitting. The keys to this service are: A) It costs far less than Fed Ex Next Day Air, often starting around $80 including all the surcharges for 4 to 5 boxes of fish compared to $100 or more for one box of fish by Fed Ex Next Day Air, B) There is a $75 Minimum fish order for this service, C) Fish are shipped Freight Collect which means you need to pay for the air freight when you pick fish up at the SWA Cargo unit on your end, and D) Fish are insured through SWA's Declared Value policies. In the event, of a DOA, you need to follow SWA's policies for reimbursement for the lost fish. Should SWA Cargo refuse to pay for this loss, provide me with proof of their failure to do so and I will refund your fish loss as long as you can show proof.
